How far can we go in May, moving for mental health & wellbeing
Lots of us know the many advantages (both mental and physical) that moving has on people.
Being active is proven to help manage stress, improve sleep, help with the symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as being a natural mood booster.
Plus moving helps supports bone, muscle and heart health and prevents and manages more than 20 chronic conditions and diseases, including some types of cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and depression.
We’re setting challenge that everyone can get involved in as a community.
10k steps = approximately 5 miles, it will all add up!
If you have a challenge in May please help us
You can walk, hike, run, cycle, swim, SUP or anything outdoors!
We will record our distances over the month and add them all up to too collectively how far we reach
There will be a daily group post on here where you are invited to add your distances into the comments for that day ( from wherever you are in the UK or beyond, if you are taking part please share your location)
Our starting point will be Garwnant Visitor Centre
Let’s see how far we can travel
